ABOUT THE PORTFOLIO

This portfolio showcases the visual design process, and concepts of a personal project.

The project is referred by two names: Hotel Bilainkin, and 'Penang, 1957'. 

The game is currently developed with Unity engine.

PROJECT PREMISE

A first person point-and-click game set in a surreal hotel.

 

It combines animation and multiple languages to create an experience akin to exploring the insides of an art house film from the 1950s. 

CREATING A WORLD.

MAPPING AN ESTATE

A hotel consisting of various cabins dotted along a hill, full of sun and cool forest air. 

There is a narrative significance to the map, as it represents the game's first area - A comfortable, albeit mysterious start of one's journey. 

 

Think the gentle atmosphere of Littleroot in Pokemon Ruby.
